HOW TO IMPORT PAGES FROM CANVA into PICABOO

Designing your yearbook pages in Canva? Great choice! Canva is a powerful and user-friendly tool that makes it easy to create stunning yearbook content.

If you’re planning to bring those pages into Picaboo Yearbook Creator, here’s exactly what you need to do to ensure a smooth import process.

Step 1: Check Your Page Size Before You Start Designing

Before you even open Canva, it’s critical to ensure your pages are set up to the correct size. Please DOUBLE CHECK your order form for the correct sizing.
Picaboo Yearbook Creator requires pages to be either:
  • 210mm x 280mm (Standard A4)

  • 210mm x 272mm (Trimmed height – check your order confirmation!)

Why this matters:
If your Canva page dimensions don’t match your Picaboo yearbook’s required size, your pages may print incorrectly, with white borders, trimming issues, or important content cut off.

🛠️ TIP: You can set custom dimensions in Canva by clicking “Custom Size” on the home screen and entering the size in millimetres (mm).

📤 Step 2: Design and Export from Canva

Once your page dimensions are confirmed and your design is complete:

1. Click “Share” in the top right.

2. Choose “Download”.

3. File Type: PDF Print.

Check the boxes for:

Crop marks and bleed

Flatten PDF

– Colour Profile: Use RGB (CMYK if you have Canva Pro and know your printer supports it).

– Click Download.

📝 Reminder: Make sure your images are high resolution – if it looks blurry on screen, it’ll print that way too.

📥 Step 3: Import into Picaboo Yearbook Creator

Now that you have your Canva file ready:
1. Open your Picaboo Yearbook Creator project.
2. Go to the page where you want to insert your Canva design.
3. Select “Add Image” or “Upload Background” (depending on your layout method).
4. Upload your PDF or convert to a high-res JPEG if required by Picaboo.
5. Fit the page exactly – make sure nothing is cropped or zoomed in unexpectedly.

👀 Double-check alignment and margins. Binding edges may eat into content if text or images are too close to the spine.

🧠 Final Tips

  • Always design with bleed in mind. Keep important elements at least 10mm from the edges.
  • Test a few pages first before doing the whole book, to make sure everything imports correctly.
  • Preview your final yearbook in Picaboo before submitting.

With these steps, you can confidently use Canva to create beautiful, print-ready pages and import them straight into Picaboo without a hitch.
